Confidentiality and Privacy
Full payment is required in advance of your session. This applies to any chosen session/package. After booking your first session, you will receive an invoice indicating the payment due date. All the prices indicated on our Service page are excluded VAT (MVA). Therefore, VAT (MVA) is to be added to your invoice according to the Norwegian Law. We are not able to offer any refund after the paid session(s) have been completed according to your booking.
We understand you may need to reschedule a session you have booked. All rescheduled sessions must be completed within three months of the initial session time and date. There is no charge for rescheduling a session.
Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance of the session will be refunded in full.
Should you cancel within less than two clear calendar days notice and are not looking to reschedule your session to another time and date, you will be refunded as follows:
In respect of the Discovery Session(s), DIY Support Session(s), Virtual Tidying Session(s) – 50%
In respect of starting the ÉDH Flagship Session Package – a total cost of the package minus 50% of one session being the cost of The Discovery Session
In respect of booked Additional Hours – 80%
Cancellations made on the same calendar day as the booked session may not be refunded.
Cancellations of rescheduled sessions are not eligible for a refund.
Once purchased, Gift Certificates are not eligible for a refund. Gift Certificate is to be used within 1 year from the date of purchase, otherwise, it won’t be considered valid. Gift Certificates can be used/combined with any of our services.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE always advises a consultation prior to booking any of our services. During the consultation we will work with you to determine the type of service most suitable for your need, as well as how many sessions you may require. It is not always possible however to give an accurate estimate and jobs may require more sessions/hours than initially thought depending on a variety of factors as each job and client is unique.
The number of sessions is dependent on the following factors:
The size of your home and the volume of items to be addressed
The number of categories you want to commit to
Your pace in determining what ‘sparks joy’
Your preparation before each session
Your willingness to continue work independently following our session(s)
Typically, one session will range from three to five hours but is not to exceed five hours unless additional hours are purchased. This amount of time is generally enough to see significant progress in any category and very few comprehensive organizing projects can be completed in less than three hours.
Should the time of the session go over five hours, you will be charged NOK 650 (eks MVA) per hour for the hours worked. ÉTAT DE HYGGE will always inform you when the booked time is up and obtain your permission to continue if you wish to do so and our schedule that day allows for it. Additional Hours can only be purchased in conjunction with an ongoing tidying session.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE will always work at your own pace as tidying can be physically and emotionally demanding. Breaks can be taken as you wish, however, please be aware that these breaks will count towards the duration of the booked session. Should the session duration take place during breakfast, lunchtime, or dinner we may need to take a break (no more than 15-20 mins). This will be arranged prior to the session starting so you are aware of timings.
Tidying is a very personal journey that requires concentration and works best when we are working one-on-one. Only you can determine what sparks joy for you and this is the time when you learn the techniques of The KonMari Method™. It is therefore strongly advised that family members, children, others you may share a home with, and pets should not be present when a session is taking place. In many cases, a parent can take decisions on young children’s belongings and I would be more than happy to assist you in the process. Once you learn the magic of KonMari style folding, passing it on to your children or others is guaranteed to be fun!

Access and working space
Please ensure there is good access immediately outside your home and inside your home. ÉTAT DE HYGGE is unable to move heavy furniture due to reasons of health and safety.
Should the working area be considered unsafe ÉTAT DE HYGGE reserves the right to cancel the session without refund.
Removal of possessions
The KonMari Method™ focuses on deciding which of your possessions and items Spark Joy™ and whether you want to keep them as such. But through this process you will also find yourself parting with possessions that you decide no longer Spark Joy™. The decision to keep or discard an item is entirely yours. We only guide you to help you determine what Sparks Joy™ in your life. ÉTAT DE HYGGE can therefore not be held liable for any possessions or items that have been discarded.
We encourage recycling items where possible or donations to registered charities. You may even choose to sell possessions or items that no longer Spark Joy™. ÉTAT DE HYGGE is unable to provide a valuation service. In any event, possessions or items disposed of are your sole responsibility. As per today, ÉTAT DE HYGGE is unable to remove these from your home.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE uses before and after photographs to support a client’s tidying journey and these photographs may be shared with KonMari™ Media Inc. privately and for the purposes of demonstrating completion of our session. The proof of the tidying completion is to be used for the further KonMari Certification process of Jovana as a KonMari Consultant and in order to always keep improving our services.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE uses before and after photographs to inspire others on this website and on the social media platform. They are always anonymized; the client cannot be identified through the photograph. We will always ask for your expressed permission to use your photographs in this way.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE may make suggestions on additional products and services by third parties. Although we always do our best to ensure we recommend high-quality products and services we are unable to accept any responsibility or liability should the products or services cause you direct or consequential loss or damage.
ÉTAT DE HYGGE is not a cleaning service and we are therefore unable to provide cleaning services.
Traveling within 30 km from Oslo is included in the price of all ÉDH in-home services. The following fees apply on traveling over 30 km outside Oslo:
From 31 to 100km: NOK 9,90 per kilometer
More than 100km: upon agreement
Travel costs are always to be discussed and pre-agreed before a session takes place.
Insurance and responsibility
ÉTAT DE HYGGE provides an in-home service and whilst every care will be taken with your possessions whilst in your home, we cannot be held liable for any direct or consequential loss or damage. It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate and appropriate insurance for your possessions.
